Privacy policy: Booking Fees & Surcharges

This policy explains what data the Wix app “Booking Fees & Surcharges” (the app), published by Kayabyte, the trading name of Caner Kaya, Stasjonsveien 64, 0771 Oslo, Norway (we, us), processes when it is installed on a Wix site. It adds to the privacy policy for Kayabyte apps for Wix, which also applies.

What the app does

The app adds surcharges that the site owner sets up, such as a weekend or holiday surcharge, to Wix Bookings checkouts.

Roles

The site owner is the controller for the data in their Wix site. Kayabyte acts as a processor that handles the data only to calculate surcharges. Wix.com Ltd. hosts the app and its data and is a sub-processor.

Data the app stores

The app stores only the surcharges the site owner creates (names, amounts, on or off state, tax setting, chosen service and staff IDs and names, and conditions such as weekdays, times, dates and group sizes) and a record of the site’s plan for the app. They are kept in data collections the app creates in the site’s own Wix CMS, readable only by the app and the site owner’s dashboard.

The app does not store any personal data of clients or site members.

Data the app reads but does not store

When Wix calculates a checkout, it sends the app the checkout lines. For Wix Bookings lines, the app uses the booking ID, price and quantity, and reads that booking’s service, staff member, start time, time zone and number of participants from Wix Bookings, only to decide which surcharges apply and how much they are. It does not read clients’ names, contact details or payment details. Booking details are kept in memory for at most one minute to avoid repeated reads during one checkout, and are not saved anywhere.

Logs

For each calculation the app writes one technical log line in Wix’s hosting: the app instance ID, a request ID, the outcome, the plan, the number of bookings, rules and surcharges, and the time taken. Logs contain no names, contact details or booking details.

Plans and payments

The app reads the site’s plan for the app (free, trial or paid) from Wix to apply the plan limit. Paid plans are sold and billed by Wix. We never receive card details.

Cookies, tracking and third parties

The app sets no cookies on the site and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. No data is shared with third parties other than Wix, which hosts the app.

Retention and deletion

Surcharges are kept while the app is installed. When the app is removed from a site, its stored surcharges for that site are deleted within 30 days. Site owners can ask for deletion at any time at support@kayabyte.dev.
