Privacy policy: Handling & Order Fees

This policy explains what data the Wix app “Handling & Order Fees” (the app), published by Kayabyte, the trading name of Caner Kaya, Stasjonsveien 64, 0771 Oslo, Norway (we, us), processes when it is installed on a Wix site. It adds to the privacy policy for Kayabyte apps for Wix, which also applies.

What the app does

The app adds fees that the site owner sets up, such as a handling or small-order fee, to the Wix Stores cart and checkout.

Roles

The site owner is the controller for the data in their Wix site. Kayabyte acts as a processor that handles the data only to calculate fees. Wix.com Ltd. hosts the app and its data and is a sub-processor.

Data the app stores

The app stores only the fee rules the site owner creates in the app’s dashboard page: the fee names, amounts, on or off state, tax setting, the IDs and names of chosen products, categories or collections, and the conditions (subtotal amounts, country codes, postcodes or postcode ranges, and delivery option names). They are kept in a data collection the app creates in the site’s own Wix CMS, readable only by the app and the site owner’s dashboard.

The app does not store any personal data of shoppers or site members.

Data the app reads but does not store

When Wix calculates a cart or checkout, it sends the app the cart details. The app uses only the cart line items (product ID, quantity and price), the subtotal, the ship-to country and postcode, and the selected delivery option, and only to decide which fees apply and how much they are. It does not read the buyer’s name, email, phone number or payment details, and it does not keep any of this data after the calculation.

For fees on categories or collections, the app looks up which categories or collections the products in the cart belong to. In the dashboard it lists the store’s products and categories so the site owner can choose them.

Logs

For each calculation the app writes one technical log line in Wix’s hosting: the app instance ID, a request ID, the outcome, the plan, how many rules were checked, how many fees were added, whether an address and a delivery option were present (yes or no) and the time taken. Logs contain no addresses, names, contact details or cart contents.

Plans and payments

The app reads the site’s plan for the app (free, trial or paid) from Wix to apply the plan limit. Paid plans are sold and billed by Wix. We never receive card details.

Cookies, tracking and third parties

The app sets no cookies on the site and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. No data is shared with third parties other than Wix, which hosts the app.

Retention and deletion

Fee rules are kept while the app is installed. When the app is removed from a site, its stored fee rules for that site are deleted within 30 days. Site owners can ask for deletion at any time at support@kayabyte.dev.
