Get started
1. Set up your calendars
- In Jira, go to Settings > Apps > Daywise. You need to be a Jira admin.
- On Calendars, edit the Default calendar or select New calendar.
- Give it a name, pick the time zone and the country. Add a state, province or region if your holidays depend on it.
- Pick the holiday types to include. Public holidays are on by default.
- Tick the working weekdays and set the working hours.
- Untick any holiday your team works, and add company closures, short days and extra working days.
- Check the Days off preview at the bottom, then select Save calendar.
2. Give projects their calendar
On Projects, search for a project, pick its calendar and select Assign. Projects without their own calendar use the default calendar.
3. Use it
- JQL:
duedate <= businessDaysFromNow(5)finds work due within five business days. Add a calendar name to use a specific calendar:duedate <= businessDaysFromNow(5, "Oslo office"). - Fields: add Business days open and
Business days to due date to your screens, list views
or board cards. Search them with JQL, for example
"Business days to due date" < 0for overdue work. - Automation: add a step called Daywise: add business days or hours, Daywise: count business days or hours or Daywise: check a business day to any rule. The first time, Jira asks you to connect Automation to Daywise.
- Panel: open a work item and expand Business days on the right.
