Create and update HubSpot properties, property groups and dropdown options in bulk from a CSV file or a Google Sheet, see every change before anything is written, export an account’s full property setup, copy it to another account, and keep a nightly log of property changes.
Bulk Property Import & Export is an app for HubSpot by Kayabyte. It uses property settings access only: it never reads or changes contact, company, deal or ticket records.
What it does
- Bulk create and update. One row per property: object, internal name, label, type, group and options. Create new properties and groups, add options to existing dropdowns, relabel options, or replace a list exactly. Works for contacts, companies, deals, tickets and, with the optional permission, custom objects.
- Preview first. Every import starts as a dry run that lists what will be created, updated or left unchanged, with a message for each row that has a problem, such as an invalid internal name, a type that does not match, a duplicate option or HubSpot’s limit of 5,000 options. Nothing is written until you click Apply.
- Results report. After the import, a report shows which rows were applied and why any row failed, with HubSpot’s own error message.
- Export the whole setup. Download all objects, groups and properties with their options as CSV or JSON, including the options of HubSpot’s default properties (for example lead status), which HubSpot’s own export leaves out. The CSV uses the same columns as the import.
- Copy between accounts. Link two accounts where the app is installed and copy properties, groups and options from one to the other, with a preview of the differences. Nothing in the target account is removed unless you tick the option to do so. (Pro)
- Nightly change log. Every night the app compares all property definitions with the night before and lists properties and options that were added, changed or archived, with the HubSpot user ID when HubSpot provides it. Free shows 30 days; Pro keeps 12 months, sends a weekly email digest and can restore a property’s previous definition.
Where your data comes from
- Paste CSV text or rows copied from Excel or Google Sheets (commas, semicolons and tabs all work).
- Upload a CSV file of up to 5 MB.
- Link a Google Sheet that is shared as “Anyone with the link can view”.
