Version 1.1.0
31 October 2026
- WhatsApp chats. Exhibitly now imports WhatsApp in both editions, with no price change. Choose File, Import WhatsApp Chat… (or drop the file on the window) to read a WhatsApp “Export chat” file, a .txt or a .zip, from an iPhone or an Android phone, in many languages and date formats. When the date order in a file is ambiguous, Exhibitly asks you which it is and remembers your answer for that file.
- WhatsApp inside an iPhone backup. WhatsApp chats in a backup made in Finder are listed automatically, encrypted backups included, with their photos and other media.
- Same export as before. WhatsApp chats use the same picking, excerpts, redaction, Bates numbers (Evidence Bundle), PDF, Excel file and attachments folder. They are listed next to your Messages conversations and never mixed into them.
- Honest verification page. It says whether the chat came from an export file (a text file; its SHA-256 is recorded when it is imported, which cannot show whether it was edited before) or from a read of WhatsApp’s database in a backup. It does not verify that messages are authentic, and says that whether the material is accepted is for the court.
- Help. Help, How to Export a WhatsApp Chat explains the steps on iPhone and Android and the difference between an export file and a backup.
- Not supported: WhatsApp for Mac’s own database, and Android backups (Android chats come in as export files).
- Fixed: exporting a conversation with thousands of attachments that share one file name could take a very long time.
