Privacy policy: Kayabyte apps for Wix

This policy explains what data the Wix apps published by Kayabyte, the trading name of Caner Kaya, Stasjonsveien 64, 0771 Oslo, Norway (we, us), process when they are installed on a Wix site. Where an app processes data in a way this page does not cover, that app’s listing and documentation describe it, and this page is updated before the app is published.

Roles

For data in a Wix site (for example store products, orders, bookings and site visitor data), the site owner is the controller and Kayabyte acts as a processor that handles the data only to provide the app’s function. Wix.com Ltd. hosts the apps and their data and is a sub-processor.

Where the apps run

Our Wix apps are built with the Wix CLI and run on Wix’s hosting. App settings are stored in the site’s own Wix data or in Wix app storage. We do not run our own servers for these apps and do not copy site data to other services, unless an app’s listing states otherwise.

Data the apps use

• Site and app instance details that Wix provides to every installed app: the site ID, the app instance ID, the site’s plan for the app (free or paid) and the site owner’s basic business details. These are used to provide the app and to apply the plan the site owner chose.
• Settings the site owner enters in the app’s dashboard page.
• Site data an app needs for its function, such as cart and checkout details for an app that applies checkout rules. This data is processed when Wix calls the app and is not stored by Kayabyte beyond what the app’s function requires.

The apps do not use advertising, tracking or analytics services of their own and do not set cookies on the site owner’s site unless an app’s listing states it.

Payments

Paid plans are sold and billed by Wix. We do not receive or store payment card details.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept while the app is installed. When an app is removed from a site, its stored settings for that site are deleted within 30 days. Site owners can ask for deletion at any time at support@kayabyte.dev.

Access

Only the apps’ own code accesses site data. Kayabyte does not sell, share or use site data for any other purpose.
