FAQ

Where does Burnrate get the time from? From monday’s time tracking columns (each completed session counts, on the day it started, in your account’s time zone) and, if you set one up, an hours log with a numbers, people and date column. A timer that is still running counts once it is stopped.

Does Burnrate change my time tracking? No. Burnrate never writes to time tracking columns. It only writes to numbers columns that you choose for write-back.

A rate changed. Do old numbers change? No. Each rate has a start date, and time is priced with the rate that applied on the day it was logged.

Some hours show “no cost rate yet”. That time was logged by someone with no rate. Add a default rate in Setup → Rate card, and it applies to everyone without a person or role rate.

How does rollover work? For a monthly or quarterly budget with rollover turned on, what is left at the end of a period is added to the next one, and carried-over time is used first. You choose for how many periods unused time can carry over (1 to 12). Only whole periods from the budget’s start date count (or from the day it was created, if it has no start date), and only periods within the history set in Setup → Settings.

When are alerts sent? Burnrate checks budgets every hour. Watchers get a monday notification when a budget reaches its warning level or is forecast to run over, and again when it goes over. Each alert is sent once per period.

How fresh are the numbers? Board time is read live from monday and reused for up to 10 minutes, so new time shows up within 10 minutes.

Is there a size limit? Burnrate reads up to 10,000 items per board, and a budget can cover up to 50 boards.

Can I use more than one currency? Not yet. Burnrate uses one currency per account, set in Setup → Settings.

Where is my data stored? In monday code storage in the EU. See the privacy policy.
