Direct booking on a Wix site: every option compared (2026)
By Caner Kaya, Kayabyte
Disclosure: I make Stay Direct, one of the options below. I’ve tried to describe every option as fairly as I can, including where mine is not the best choice. Prices, ratings and review counts are copied from each option’s own page on 23 October 2026. Where a page doesn’t say something, the table says “not stated” instead of guessing.
This page is for holiday rentals, cabins, B&Bs and small hotels that want guests to book on their own Wix site, without paying a commission to Airbnb or Booking.com for those stays.
The short answer
- A small hotel or guesthouse that wants Booking.com and Expedia connected: start with Wix Hotels by HotelRunner, Wix’s own app with a channel manager. Or use a full channel manager such as Beds24 or Lodgify and embed its booking widget.
- A property manager with many listings who already uses a rental system: embed that system’s widget (Lodgify, Beds24, Hostaway). Don’t run two systems.
- A US host who wants Google Vacation Rentals and Airbnb in one place: STR & Airbnb Booking Manager by Futurestay has the most reviews of the outside rental apps on the App Market. Check that it’s available in your country.
- One to a few cabins or apartments, or a B&B with a few room types, paid through your own Wix checkout: an App Market booking app such as Stay Direct, InnDesk or Advanced Hotel Booking.
- You only want to show which dates are free, and take enquiries by email: a free availability calendar is enough.

Wix’s own options
Wix Bookings
Wix Bookings is built for appointments and classes. Wix says “it is not currently possible to create multi-day appointments in Wix Bookings” (feature request), and the workaround is a custom duration of up to 99 hours. That’s about four nights, not priced per night. It syncs with your primary Google Calendar, but not with Airbnb calendar links (Wix guide).
Fits best: tours, classes, day rentals. Not overnight stays.
Wix also has Wix Rentals, built on Bookings. Wix says it’s “available only on Wix Harmony” and online reservations need a Business Premium plan (overview).
Wix Hotels by HotelRunner
Wix Hotels is Wix’s own app for properties with rooms. Its listing promises connections to “over 100 online sales channels such as Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb”. Wix says the channel manager “comes included when you upgrade your site”, “no additional fees apply” for it, and the number of channels “varies depending on the plan you choose” (Wix guide). The app is available in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Italian, Dutch, Japanese and German.
One thing to know before you rely on it for Airbnb: its Airbnb iCal connection is one way. Wix says “your rates and reservations will not” sync, and “you will need to manually update any reservations received from Airbnb” (Wix guide). Wix also says the new version “is not available to everyone yet” (comparison).
On the App Market it has 2.3 out of 5 from 325 reviews. Read a few recent ones before you build around it.
Fits best: small hotels and guesthouses with several room types that want Booking.com and Expedia connected through a channel manager, from inside Wix.
App Market apps
STR & Airbnb Booking Manager (Futurestay)
STR & Airbnb Booking Manager is the most reviewed rental app from an outside developer in the Hotels category: 3.9 from 69 reviews, “Verified by Wix”. It promises commission-free direct bookings, sync with Airbnb, VRBO and Booking.com, iCal support and a Google Vacation Rentals listing. Payments go through Stripe (“Stripe credit card processing fee applies”).
Two things to check. The App Market lists it as Free, while Futurestay’s pricing page lists plans from $20 per property a month billed yearly, so ask which applies to you. And when I opened the page from Norway it said “This app isn’t available yet for Norway”. In its replies to reviews, Futurestay says it has expanded from the US to Mexico, Canada and Caribbean islands.
Fits best: hosts in the countries it serves, especially in the US, who want Airbnb and Google Vacation Rentals handled in one place.
Hotel Booking App, InnDesk
InnDesk is a front desk for “small hotels, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts”, “built for three to forty rooms”, with no commission. Guests book on your site, and iCal feeds from Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo block nights. It’s open about the limits of iCal: the feeds “carry dates only, never prices or guest names”. 4.5 from 8 reviews. Free for 3 rooms and one calendar sync; $9 a month for 10 rooms and $19 for unlimited (monthly prices, 70% off until 31 October 2026).
Fits best: a B&B or small hotel that wants a daily arrivals and departures screen, not only a booking form.
Advanced Hotel Booking
Advanced Hotel Booking covers hotels and vacation rentals with room types, offers, a front desk and reports. Guests can book “with full, partial, or no deposit”. The free plan has unlimited rooms and bookings with a watermark; Premium is from $6 a month. No reviews yet, and its page doesn’t mention calendar sync.
Fits best: a site that takes bookings only on its own website and doesn’t need Airbnb sync.
Availability calendars only
If you only want to show free dates and take enquiries, these don’t take bookings or payments:
- Integrated-Calendar shows your Airbnb or VRBO bookings from their iCal links. From $1.99 a month, 1.0 from 2 reviews.
- Shared House Calendar is free and in six languages. You manage dates on shared-house.com. 1.0 from 1 review.
- Booking Calendar by Manoj the Yogi lets guests pick dates and fill in a form. Taking payment needs its template with Wix Stores, or code. 2.8 from 9 reviews.
Embedding an outside channel manager
If you manage several rentals, you may already need a channel manager that connects to Airbnb and Booking.com through their own connections, not only iCal. Then the simplest Wix setup is often to keep that system and add its booking widget to your site with Add Elements > Embed Code > Embed HTML (Wix guide). The trade-off: guests usually finish booking and pay on that system’s booking page, not in your Wix checkout, and embedded elements are iframes that don’t resize like normal Wix elements.
- Lodgify shows “0% booking fee” on every plan. The booking widget comes with Starter, from €28 a month or €23 billed yearly for one property, in the euro view of its pricing page. Lodgify says its widgets “are compatible with standard Squarespace, and Wix versions”, and that the Search Box is “the only one that can seamlessly integrate the booking flow” (Lodgify help).
- Beds24 charges by what you use, “from €15.50/month”, with each channel connection at €0.55 a month, and says it “never charges commissions on bookings” (pricing). Its widgets come in “over 30 languages” and work on Wix “via a code snippet”, and they link to your Beds24 booking page (booking widgets).
- Hostaway asks how many listings you manage before it shows pricing. Its help center says the search bar and calendar widgets can go on another site, “i.e., Wix allows you to embed HTML codes”, once your Hostaway booking website is published (Hostaway help).
Fits best: property managers with many listings, or anyone who wants live channel connections and everything in one system.
Stay Direct (mine)
Stay Direct adds a booking calendar to your Wix site for each property. Guests pick dates and party size and see the full price: nights, guest fees, long-stay discount and cleaning fee. They pay through your own Wix checkout, in full or with a deposit you choose, and the nights are held for 15 minutes. You set nightly and weekend prices, seasons with their own prices and minimum stays, stay lengths, notice, booking window and arrival days. B&Bs and small hotels can add room types with several identical rooms and offer rate options such as non-refundable or with breakfast. The widget follows your site’s language in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian or Norwegian.
Calendar sync imports your other sites’ iCal links about every 15 minutes, blocks those nights, and gives you a link that shares your direct bookings back. There’s no booking commission. Every plan has every feature: Free takes bookings for one property, Pro ($9.99 a month, or $8.29 billed yearly) up to 5, and Business ($24.99 a month, or $20.74 billed yearly) up to 200. 14-day trial on paid plans. It has no reviews yet.
Where it’s not the best fit:
- You want Booking.com or Expedia connected through a real channel manager, with rates pushed out. Stay Direct only uses iCal links, which share dates. Use Wix Hotels by HotelRunner, Beds24, Lodgify or Hostaway.
- You can’t take payments on your Wix site. Online payments need a Premium plan and a connected payment provider. An embedded system that takes payment itself avoids that.
- Very popular dates. Imported calendars refresh about every 15 minutes, so a booking made elsewhere in that window can still overlap. A channel manager with direct connections narrows that gap.
- You need a front desk, guest messaging or a widget in many more languages. InnDesk, Lodgify and Beds24 do more here.
Fits best: one to a few cabins or apartments, or a B&B with a few room types, where guests should pay through your own Wix checkout with a deposit, and Airbnb or Booking.com calendars are kept in step by iCal.

Whatever you pick
- Test a booking end to end on your live site, including the payment and the confirmation email, before you share the link.
- Plan for the iCal gap. Airbnb reads calendar links about every 3 hours. More on this in Sync Airbnb with your Wix site without double bookings.
- Write your deposit and cancellation terms where guests see them before paying.
- Use one system for each property. Two booking systems both taking bookings for the same rooms is the most common cause of double bookings.
FAQ
Is there a commission-free booking system for Wix? Yes, several. Futurestay, InnDesk, Beds24, Lodgify and Stay Direct all say they take no commission on direct bookings. You still pay your card processor’s fees and any plan price.
Can Wix sync with my Airbnb calendar? Wix Hotels by HotelRunner sends your availability to Airbnb, but doesn’t receive Airbnb bookings. Wix Bookings doesn’t read Airbnb links. For two-way iCal, use an app or an outside system.
What’s best for a B&B with several room types? Wix Hotels by HotelRunner and InnDesk are built around rooms, with InnDesk aimed at 3 to 40 rooms. Stay Direct handles room types with several identical rooms. If you need Booking.com connected by more than iCal, use Wix Hotels or a channel manager.
Can guests pay a deposit and the rest later? Advanced Hotel Booking offers full, partial or no deposit, Wix Hotels has deposit policies, and Stay Direct takes a deposit through your Wix checkout. Wix Bookings has a fixed-amount deposit, but no multi-night stays.
