Wix Hotels by HotelRunner limits: minimum stays, last-minute bookings and more
By Caner Kaya, Kayabyte
Disclosure: I make Stay Direct, a booking app for Wix sites that I mention at the end. Everything about Wix Hotels below comes from Wix’s own help pages, linked in each section, or from owners’ posts on the Wix forum, and I say which is which. Checked on 24 October 2026.
Wix Hotels by HotelRunner is Wix’s own app for hotels, B&Bs and rentals. It’s the obvious first choice on Wix, and for many small hotels it’s the right one. But owners keep running into the same handful of limits on the Wix forum. This page goes through each one: what Wix says, what owners report, and what you can do about it today.
What Wix Hotels does well
Start here, because these are the reasons to stay with it.
- A real channel manager. It connects to Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia and other sites. Wix says the channel manager “comes included when you upgrade your site” and “no additional fees apply” for using it (Wix guide). If you need your rates pushed to Booking.com, this is the main thing an app can’t replace.
- Rate plans with meal options, sellable markets and cancellation policies (overview).
- Restrictions per date: minimum stay, closed to arrival, closed to departure and stop sell, set in the Inventory Calendar (Wix guide).
- Bulk updates for prices and restrictions across a date range, including only on chosen days of the week (Wix guide).
- Promotion codes with their own stay dates and booking dates (Wix guide).
- The app itself in nine languages, and your hotel content in more through Wix Multilingual.
The limits owners hit
1. Minimum stay not enforced in the booking flow
Wix Hotels has a minimum stay setting. But in April 2026 an owner reported: “We have a minimum stay restriction set to 3 nights, yet the system still allows guests to select fewer nights during booking” (forum). The thread has no answer yet. Wix doesn’t describe this as a limit, so it’s either a bug or a setting that didn’t apply where the owner expected.
What to try:
- Open the Inventory Calendar and check the minimum stay on the exact room type and dates the guest booked. A minimum set on one room type or date range doesn’t cover the others.
- Use Bulk Updates to set the minimum stay on every room type for the whole season in one go.
- Make a test booking for fewer nights. If it goes through, send Wix support a screen recording. Requests for Hotels often get passed on to HotelRunner, so a recording saves a round trip.
- Until it’s fixed, state the minimum on the room page (“3-night minimum, shorter stays will be cancelled”) so the cancellation doesn’t come as a surprise.
2. No rule against last-minute bookings
On the Wix forum, a community manager answered in June 2026: “As far as I know, it’s not currently possible to set a policy for last minute reservations” (forum). Wix’s help pages don’t describe a notice setting either. The booking window can’t be limited at the other end: guests can book up to 2 years ahead, and Wix says “it is not possible to limit or customize the booking window for your property” (feature request).
The workaround is manual. Each evening, set closed to arrival or stop sell on the next day or two in the Inventory Calendar. Remove it if you change your mind. It works for a small place, but it’s easy to forget on a busy day.
3. Long-stay discounts and weekday rates
An owner asked in 2025 whether Hotels would improve, because “it doesn’t allow discounts for extended bookings, or rate changes for dates of the week” (forum). Half of that has changed since:
- Weekday rates: now possible. Bulk Updates has a Days dropdown to apply a price change to chosen days of the week only (Wix guide). So you can set Friday and Saturday higher for a season in one step.
- Long-stay discounts: still not possible. Wix says “it is not possible to offer duration-based discounts using Wix Hotels by HotelRunner” and is collecting votes (feature request).
Workaround for long stays: a promotion code, sent to guests who ask about a week or a month. It discounts per room and per night, but the guest has to type it at checkout, and Wix’s guide doesn’t mention a minimum-stay condition for codes. So it’s a discount you hand out, not one that applies on its own.
Also good to know: there’s no maximum stay setting. Every reservation is capped at 90 days, and Wix says that “cannot be changed” (feature request).
4. One property per site
For the current version, Wix says “it is not possible to set up your hotel at multiple locations” (feature request). Channels follow the same rule: “You can connect only one Hotel ID from each channel to each Wix Hotels by HotelRunner account” (Wix guide). An owner with several Airbnb listings asked how to handle this in February 2026, and the thread has no answer yet (forum).
Workarounds:
- A separate Wix site per property. Each one gets its own Hotels setup and channels. Fine for two properties, tiring for five.
- A property management system that handles several properties, with its booking widget embedded on your Wix site. That’s the usual route for managers with many listings.
5. How many channels you can connect depends on your plan
Wix says “the number of channel connections varies depending on the plan you choose” (Wix guide), but its help pages don’t list the numbers. In October 2025 an owner with three channels was asked to upgrade, and a community leader replied that the Business plan includes 2 channels and Business Elite is unlimited (forum). That’s a forum answer, not Wix’s own statement, so check your plan before you count on a third channel.
Workarounds:
- Put your main channels first. If you’re limited to two, connect the two that bring most bookings, and send past guests to your own site instead of a third channel.
- Upgrade the plan when the extra channel earns more than the price difference. For a hotel on Booking.com and Expedia, it usually does.
- Calendar links (iCal) are sometimes suggested instead. Ask Wix whether they count toward your limit, and know what they carry: dates only. For Airbnb, Wix’s iCal connection is one way. Availability goes to Airbnb, but “your rates and reservations will not” come back, and Airbnb bookings have to be added by hand (Wix guide).
Should you leave Wix Hotels?
Probably not, if you’re a hotel with several room types and you rely on Booking.com or Expedia. The channel manager is the hard part to replace, and a lighter app won’t push your rates to those sites. Work around the limits above, or move to a property management system and embed its booking engine.
It’s worth looking elsewhere if you’re one of these:
- A few cabins, apartments or holiday homes that would need one Wix site each in Hotels.
- A small B&B or rental that mostly takes direct bookings and keeps Airbnb or Booking.com in step by calendar links.
- Anyone who needs a notice rule or long-stay discounts that apply on their own.
Direct booking on a Wix site: every option compared lists the App Market booking apps and the embedded systems side by side.
Where Stay Direct fits (mine)
Full disclosure: I built Stay Direct, a booking calendar app for Wix sites. On the five limits above, here’s what it does:
- Minimum stay: set one for each property and, if you like, a higher one for a season. The calendar won’t offer a check-out date before the property’s minimum, and the price check and checkout both reject a stay shorter than the minimum for those dates.
- Last-minute bookings: a Notice before arrival in days, and a Latest booking time that closes the earliest bookable day at, say, 18:00 in your site’s time zone.
- Long stays and weekday rates: a weekly discount (7 nights or more) and a monthly discount (28 nights or more) that apply on their own. A weekend price for the nights you choose, and seasons with their own nightly and weekend prices.
- Several properties: each one has its own calendar and its own calendar links on one Wix site. The free plan is for one property; paid plans take more.
- Other sites: it imports each property’s Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com calendar link about every 15 minutes and gives you a link back with your direct bookings. Guests pay through your own Wix checkout, in full or with a deposit you choose.
Where it’s not the right fit: it’s not a channel manager. It only syncs dates by calendar links, so it doesn’t push rates to Booking.com or Expedia, and a booking made elsewhere can overlap in the minutes before the next import. It’s built for small places: cabins, apartments, and B&Bs with a few room types. A 30-room hotel is better off with Wix Hotels or a full system.

FAQ
Can Wix Hotels set a minimum stay? Yes, per date or date range in the Inventory Calendar, and in bulk. One owner reported in April 2026 that guests could still book fewer nights, so test it with a real booking.
Can I stop same-day or next-day bookings in Wix Hotels? Not with a setting. Close arrivals or stop sale for the next days by hand in the Inventory Calendar.
Can Wix Hotels give a discount for a week or a month? Not automatically. Wix lists duration-based discounts as a feature request. A promotion code is the closest workaround.
Can I run several properties on one Wix Hotels site? No. Wix says multiple locations aren’t possible, and each channel connects to one hotel ID per account.
How many channels does my Wix plan include? Wix says it depends on the plan but doesn’t list the numbers in its help pages. A forum answer from October 2025 says 2 on Business and unlimited on Business Elite.
