Download AlbumRescue

The download is the full app. The scan, every list, the comparison with another library and 10 photos saved for real are free, so you can see what a library holds and check the files before you pay. When you buy the full export, you enter your licence key in the same app.
System requirements
- A Mac with macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later.
- A Photos library from macOS 10.15 or later, on any mounted volume: APFS, encrypted APFS once unlocked, HFS+ or exFAT, or in a Time Machine backup.
- Photos does not need to open the library. AlbumRescue never starts it.
- No internet connection is needed to scan or save. The app goes online only for your licence and for updates.
Installing
- Open AlbumRescue.dmg and drag AlbumRescue to the Applications folder.
- Open AlbumRescue from Applications.
- For Time Machine backups and the library on this Mac, turn on Full Disk Access when the app asks. For a library on an external drive you can skip this and choose the library yourself. See help.
AlbumRescue is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS can check it. macOS may ask once whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Updates come from inside the app (AlbumRescue, Check for Updates).
Read the scan first
The Overview tab has a list called “Before you pay: what this can and cannot do”, worked out for your library. It says how many originals are in this copy, what stayed in iCloud, and whether Photos itself could do the job for free. Everything stays on your Mac; see the privacy policy.
