What’s new in Gridhand
The changes in each version. Gridhand checks for updates itself; you can also choose Gridhand, Check for Updates.
Version 1.0.1
Released 1 November 2026.
- Convert: CSV, TSV and text files now become XLSX with column widths that fit the data, so dates and long codes are readable in Excel without widening columns by hand.
- Clearer note when a tool leaves files out: a CSV or text file is pointed to Convert, and the wording is fixed.
- Result lines say “1 sheet” and “3 sheets” instead of “sheet(s)”.
Version 1.0.0
Released 1 November 2026. First release.
- Merge: combine workbooks into one workbook (every sheet a tab, with formatting, tables, charts, images and notes) or stack the rows of many sheets into one sheet, matching columns by header text, with optional source file and sheet columns.
- Split: one file per sheet, one file per value in a column, or a new file every N rows, with header rows repeated.
- Compare: two workbooks into a highlighted copy plus Summary and Differences sheets; match rows by position or key columns.
- Clean: trim spaces, text to numbers, standardise dates, unmerge and fill down, remove duplicates, remove empty rows and columns.
- Find and Replace across many workbooks with plain text, whole cell, case and regular expressions, in values or formulas, with a preview of every match.
- Convert: CSV, TSV and text to XLSX with encoding and delimiter detection, and XLSX to CSV per sheet.
- Every tool shows a preview first. Originals are never modified and files are never overwritten.
- Works on your Mac. No account, no AI, no usage analytics. Free on up to 3 files per run; Gridhand Pro is USD 49 once for 2 Macs.
- Not supported: .xls and .numbers files, and password-protected workbooks.
