Privacy policy: Accessibility Widget & Audit
Last updated: 7 November 2026
This policy explains what data the Wix app “Accessibility Widget & Audit” (the app), published by Kayabyte, the trading name of Caner Kaya, Stasjonsveien 64, 0771 Oslo, Norway (we, us), processes when it is installed on a Wix site. It adds to the privacy policy for Kayabyte apps for Wix, which also applies.
What the app does
The app adds an accessibility toolbar to the site, so visitors can change how pages look for them. In the site’s dashboard, the site owner sets up the toolbar, runs an audit of the site’s public pages and generates an accessibility statement.
Roles
The site owner is the controller for the data in their Wix site. Kayabyte acts as a processor that handles the data only to run the audit and keep the toolbar settings. Wix.com Ltd. hosts the site and the app’s dashboard page and data. Cloudflare, Inc. serves the toolbar’s script and font files. Cloudflare is a sub-processor.
The toolbar in the visitor’s browser
The toolbar runs in the visitor’s own browser. It stores the visitor’s own display choices (for example text size or contrast) in that browser’s localStorage, on the visitor’s device only, so they can be applied on the next page. This is not sent to us, and we do not read it. The toolbar makes no request to us for each page view. Its script and font are static files on kayabyte.dev, delivered by Cloudflare, which sees standard request data such as the visitor’s IP address in order to deliver the files. We collect no personal data from visitors, set no cookies and use no analytics, advertising or tracking services.
Data the app stores for the site owner
Stored in the app’s data collection on Wix: - Toolbar settings: position, size, colour, language and the other options the site owner chooses. - Audit results: the last 2 audit results for the site: the addresses and titles of the site’s public pages, the findings, and short snippets of the page elements concerned. - Plan information: the site’s plan, read from Wix, to switch Pro settings on or off.
The audit
The audit fetches only the site’s own public pages (the pages listed in its sitemap), the same pages any visitor can open. It does not log in and does not read anything behind a login. The page text it reads is not kept except for the short element snippets in the results.
Retention and deletion
- Settings and the last 2 audit results are kept while the app is installed. A new audit replaces the oldest result.
- Site owners can delete the settings and scan results at any time with Delete app data on the app’s Plan tab. This also switches the toolbar off.
- Removing the app stops the toolbar at once. Wix can keep app data with the site after the app is removed (a reinstall then finds the old settings), so delete it in the app first if you want it gone.
- Site owners can also ask for deletion at support@kayabyte.dev.
- We also keep a small install record for our own install counts: the site’s ID, when the app was installed or removed, and plan changes. It holds no names, emails or page content.
Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Every request to the app’s backend is checked with Wix, and each site can read only its own data.
Logs
Technical log lines (the app instance ID, the request path, the outcome and error codes) are written when the dashboard calls the backend. They contain no page content. Install, removal and plan events that Wix sends the app, with the app instance ID, are also copied to Kayabyte’s private usage statistics.
Plans and payments
Paid plans are handled by Wix. We never receive card details.
Cookies, tracking and third parties
The app sets no cookies. We do not sell data. No data is shared with third parties other than Wix and Cloudflare, as described above.
Your rights
For questions about this policy, or to exercise your rights under the GDPR, contact support@kayabyte.dev.
Changes
We will update this page if the app’s data handling changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
