Handling & Order Fees for Wix
Add your own fees to the Wix Stores cart and checkout: a handling fee on every order, a small-order fee below a subtotal, a packaging fee on some products, a fee for some countries or postcodes, or a fee for pickup or one delivery option. Each fee shows as its own named line and is added to the order total.
Getting started
- Install Handling & Order Fees from the Wix App Market on a site with Wix Stores.
- In your site dashboard, open Checkout fees.
- Click Add example fee to create a 2.50 handling fee on every order, or click Create fee to start from scratch.
- Set the fee name shoppers see (up to 50 characters), the amount, what the fee applies to and any conditions. Save.
- Add a product to the cart on your live site. The fee appears as its own line in the cart and at checkout.
Setting up a fee
Amount. Choose a fixed amount in your store currency, or a percentage of the subtotal of the items the fee applies to. A percentage fee can have a minimum and a maximum. Amounts are rounded to the smallest unit of your currency. A fee that rounds to zero is not shown.
Applies to. The whole order, specific products, or specific categories (collections on stores that use the older Wix Stores catalog). A fee is added only when at least one matching store product is in the cart. Other items, such as bookings, are ignored.
Conditions. All optional. When you set more than one, all must hold:
- the subtotal is at least an amount, or below an amount (for a small-order fee);
- the ship-to country is one of the countries you chose;
- the ship-to postcode starts with a value you entered (for example “NW1” or “01”), or falls in a range (for example “0150-0199”);
- the delivery is shipping or local delivery only, or pickup only;
- the shopper picked one of the delivery options you named (matched on the option name as shown at checkout, ignoring upper and lower case).
The subtotal is the price of the matching items before shipping, tax and coupons. Country, postcode and delivery conditions can only be checked once the shopper has entered them, so a fee with those conditions appears at checkout after the address or delivery option is chosen.
Tax. Fees are not taxed by default, which is also the Wix default. Turn on Charge tax on this fee for a fee and Wix adds tax to it using your store’s tax settings.
Plans
- Free: 1 fee on at a time, with every fee type, scope and condition.
- Pro: unlimited fees on at once. $7.99 per month, or $6.66 per month billed yearly, with a 14-day free trial. Billed by Wix.
On the Free plan, if more than one fee is on, only the oldest one is added at checkout, and the dashboard shows which one. Upgrade from the banner in the app’s dashboard page. After an upgrade or a trial starts, all fees that are on apply within about a minute.
FAQ
Can I charge a fee for cash on delivery? Not yet. Wix does not tell apps which payment method the shopper picked, so a fee cannot depend on the payment method. If Wix adds this, we will add it to the app.
Where do shoppers see the fee? In the cart and at checkout, as a separate line with the name you chose, and in the order. The app adds nothing else to your live site.
Can a fee apply to only some products? Yes. Choose specific products or categories under “Applies to”. A percentage fee is then calculated on those items only.
Why does my postcode or delivery fee not show in the cart? The cart often does not know the address or delivery option yet. The fee appears at checkout once the shopper has entered them.
Can I show several fees on one order? Yes, on the Pro plan. Each fee is its own line.
What happens if the app cannot calculate a fee? If something goes wrong, or the calculation takes too long, the app adds no fee for that calculation, so checkout is never blocked or slowed down.
Does the app work with every currency? Yes. Fees use your store currency and are rounded to its smallest unit, for example whole yen for JPY.
What happens to my fees if I remove the app? Fees stop being added at once. The fee rules are deleted within 30 days, as described in the privacy policy.
How do I get help? Email support@kayabyte.dev. We answer within one business day, Monday to Friday, Central European Time.
