Free tools for Jira and Confluence admins

Small calculators and query builders for Jira Cloud admins. Each one runs in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere, and there is nothing to install.

Tools

• JSM request participants rule builder: enter a service project, request types and Jira groups, and get the JQL for the matching requests, a curl sequence that adds a group’s members as participants, the matching command for a free script, and what Automation can and can’t do.
• Burn rate and run-out date calculator: enter a budget in money or hours, a start date and what has been spent, and get daily and weekly burn, the run-out date, percent used and an estimate at completion, with the formulas shown.
• WIP per person JQL builder: pick projects, statuses and a limit, and get the JQL for work in progress per assignee, dashboard gadget steps, an Automation idea with its limits, and a free script command.

Where these come from

Each tool matches one of the guides for Jira and Confluence admins and one of the Kayabyte apps for Jira: Group Participants, Burnrate and Personal WIP Limits. The tools do the one-off job by hand; the apps keep it up to date. The scripts the tools mention are free and open source: atlassian-admin-scripts.
