Instant cleaning quotes and arrival-window booking on a Wix site

By Caner Kaya, Kayabyte

A home cleaning business prices by the home, not by the hour on the clock: a three-bedroom house with two bathrooms costs more than a studio, a deep clean costs more than a standard one, and cleaning inside the oven is extra. Clients also don’t book a 10:00 slot. They book an arrival window, like 8 to 10 am, and you can only take as many jobs as you have crews. And you only clean in some postcodes.

Here is how far Wix’s own tools get you with that, step by step, and where you need something extra.

Option 1: Wix Bookings with each crew as a staff member

Wix Bookings handles the scheduling side reasonably well if you treat each crew as a staff member.

  1. In your site’s dashboard, add each crew (or each cleaner) as a staff member with their working hours.
  2. Create an appointment service, for example “Standard clean”, assign the crews to it and set how long it takes.
  3. Set the service’s location to the client’s place. The booking form then asks for the client’s address (Setting up booking forms).
  4. Add booking form fields for what your cleaners need to know: access notes, gate code, parking, pets at home.

A crew can’t be booked twice at the same time, so your number of crews limits how many jobs you take. That’s the part that works.

What doesn’t fit as well:

Pricing by home size: varied prices and add-ons

In the service’s Price & payment section, choose Varied prices and click + Add Variations (Selecting how you charge). For appointments, the variations can be by client or service type, by duration, or by staff member.

For cleaning, the usual setup is options by home size, such as “1 bed, 1 bath”, “2 bed, 1 bath” and “3 bed, 2 bath”. The limits:

For extras, Wix Bookings has service add-ons: paid extras such as “Inside oven” or “Interior windows” that clients can add to a booking, up to 3 groups of 7 on an appointment. They’re a good fit for cleaning extras.

For a deep clean or a move-out clean, make a separate service with its own prices and length.

Option 2: a quote request form

Many cleaning businesses don’t put prices online at all. They use a form that asks for the home size, the type of clean, extras, the preferred day and the address, and reply with a quote.

It handles any pricing you like, and you can turn down postcodes you don’t serve before you reply. But the client doesn’t get a price while they’re on your site, and every booking takes a few emails. Clients who want an answer now tend to book with whoever shows a price first.

Deposits

Wix Bookings can take an online deposit with the rest in person: in Price & payment, choose Online deposit and the rest in person under Payment preferences and enter the amount. Wix notes this isn’t available to every account yet, needs an online payment method, and can’t be used with manual approval.

Where the built-in options stop

I couldn’t find a Wix setting for any of these:

An app for cleaning quotes and booking

Full disclosure: I make Cleaning Quote & Booking. It adds a booking widget to your site that gives home cleaning and maid services an instant price and online booking.

Clients enter their bedrooms, bathrooms and home size, choose the type of clean (such as standard, deep or move-out) and add extras like inside the oven or interior windows, with a quantity where it makes sense. They see the full price before they book. You set the base price, the price per bedroom and bathroom, size tiers, how much more each type of clean costs, a minimum charge and how long each part of the job takes, so the app also works out the job’s length.

Clients then pick a date and an arrival window you’ve set up, like 8 to 10 am. A job takes one crew for its length, so a long deep clean blocks more of the day than a quick standard clean, and the windows offered follow how many crews you have. You also set how much notice you need and how far ahead clients can book.

A postcode check keeps bookings to the areas you serve. A code covers the postcodes that start with it, numeric ranges work for ZIP codes, and UK district codes match exactly, so “SW1” covers SW1A but not SW11. Clients outside your area see your own message instead of the booking form.

Recurring cleans: weekly, every-two-weeks and every-four-weeks cleans can each have their own discount. The first visit is booked and paid online. The next visits are then scheduled on the same weekday and window, eight weeks ahead, and you collect for them the way you usually do and mark them paid. You can skip a visit, pause, resume or end a series, and change its price per visit.

The dashboard has a printable day sheet grouped by arrival window, a calendar, every booking with access notes and pets, crew assignment, recurring clients, a form for phone bookings and a calendar feed. Calendar feeds leave out the client’s email, phone and notes.

What to know before you install it:

You can find it on the Wix App Market.

FAQ

Can Wix Bookings calculate a cleaning price from bedrooms and bathrooms? Not as a calculation. You can list home sizes as price options, but options can’t be combined, so each bedroom and bathroom combination is its own option.

Can I limit Wix bookings to certain postcodes? I couldn’t find a postcode setting in Wix Bookings. A quote form you check by hand, or an app with a postcode check, are the ways to do it.

Can clients book a weekly clean on Wix? Not as a repeating booking with a discount, as far as I can tell. In Cleaning Quote & Booking it’s on the paid plans: the first visit is paid online and the next visits are scheduled for you.

How do I show arrival windows instead of start times? Wix Bookings shows start times. Cleaning Quote & Booking lets you set the windows yourself, per weekday.
