Booking Fees & Surcharges for Wix
Add your own surcharges to Wix Bookings at checkout: weekend or evening rates, holidays and special dates, last-minute bookings, group bookings, chosen services or chosen staff members. Each surcharge is its own named line at checkout and is added to the total.
Getting started
- Install Booking Fees & Surcharges from the Wix App Market on a site with Wix Bookings.
- In your site dashboard, open Booking surcharges.
- Click Add example surcharge to charge 10 extra for sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, or click Create surcharge to start from scratch.
- Set the name clients see, the amount, the services and any conditions. Save.
- Book a matching session on your live site. The surcharge appears as its own line at checkout.
Setting up a surcharge
Amount. A fixed amount per booking, a fixed amount per participant, or a percentage of the booking price with an optional minimum and maximum per booking. Amounts use your site currency and are rounded to its smallest unit.
Services. All services, or chosen services. Only Wix Bookings items count. Store products and other items in the same checkout are never charged.
When to charge it. All optional; when you set more than one, all must hold:
- days of the week the session starts on;
- a start-time window, for example 18:00 to 22:00 (a window like 22:00 to 06:00 runs past midnight);
- specific dates, such as holidays;
- last-minute: the session starts within a number of hours;
- groups: at least a number of participants;
- chosen staff members.
Days and times are those of the session, in the time zone the client booked in.
Tax. Surcharges are not taxed by default. Turn on Charge tax on this surcharge and Wix adds tax using your site’s tax settings.
Plans
- Free: 1 surcharge on at a time, with every amount type and condition.
- Pro: unlimited surcharges on at once. $6.99 per month, or $5.83 per month billed yearly, with a 14-day free trial. Billed by Wix.
On the Free plan, if more than one surcharge is on, only the oldest one is added at checkout. Upgrade from the banner in the app’s dashboard page.
FAQ
Can I give a discount for quiet hours? Not with this app. Wix only lets apps add fees, not negative amounts. Use a Wix coupon or automatic discount for that.
Where do clients see the surcharge? At checkout, as a separate line with the name you chose, and on the order. The app adds nothing else to your site.
Does it work for classes and courses? Yes. Classes use the session’s start time; courses use the start of the first session.
What happens if the app cannot calculate a surcharge? If something goes wrong, or the calculation takes too long, no surcharge is added, so a booking is never blocked or delayed.
What happens to my surcharges if I remove the app? They stop being added at once and are deleted within 30 days, as described in the privacy policy.
