Privacy policy: Event Capacity & Waitlist
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy explains what data the Wix app “Event Capacity & Waitlist” (the app), published by Kayabyte, the trading name of Caner Kaya, Stasjonsveien 64, 0771 Oslo, Norway (we, us), processes when it is installed on a Wix site. It adds to the privacy policy for Kayabyte apps for Wix, which also applies.
What the app does
The app gives Wix Events events one shared ticket limit across ticket types, and lets guests join a waitlist on the event page when an event is sold out. When tickets free up, it reports an automation trigger so the site’s own automations can email the people waiting.
Roles
The site owner is the controller for the data in their Wix site, including the waitlist. Kayabyte acts as a processor that handles the data only to run the waitlist and keep ticket limits in line. Wix.com Ltd. hosts the app and its data and is a sub-processor.
Data the app stores
- Per event the owner turns on: the event ID and title, the shared capacity, whether the waitlist is on, and the ticket limits the app applied and the owner’s own limits.
- The waitlist: for each guest who joins, their first name, last name, email address, how many tickets they want, the event, the status (waiting, notified or removed), the date they joined and, once notified, the date and their site contact ID.
- A record of the site’s plan for the app.
All of this is kept in data collections the app creates in the site’s own Wix CMS, readable only by the app and the site owner’s dashboard.
Data the app reads but does not store
The app reads the event’s details, ticket types and sales counts from Wix Events to keep ticket limits in line. It reads no order or buyer details other than which event an order belongs to.
Contacts and automations
When tickets free up for a waiting guest, the app finds the guest in the site’s contacts by email, or creates a contact with their name and email, and reports the trigger “Event waitlist spot opened” to the site’s Wix Automations with the contact, first name, event title, event page link and number of tickets wanted. Any email is sent by the site owner’s own automation. The app does not send emails itself.
Logs
For each update the app writes one technical log line in Wix’s hosting: the app instance ID, the event ID, what triggered it, the outcome, counts and the time taken. Logs contain no names or email addresses.
Plans and payments
The app reads the site’s plan for the app (free, trial or paid) from Wix to apply the plan limit. Paid plans are sold and billed by Wix. We never receive card details.
Cookies, tracking and third parties
The app sets no cookies on the site and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. No data is shared with third parties other than Wix, which hosts the app.
Retention and deletion
Settings and waitlists are kept while the app is installed. The site owner can delete waitlist entries at any time in the app’s dashboard. When the app is removed from a site, its stored data for that site is deleted within 30 days. Contacts the app created stay in the site’s contacts, which the site owner controls. Site owners and guests can ask for deletion at any time at support@kayabyte.dev.

Changes
We will update this page if the app’s data handling changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
