Privacy policy: Request a Quote & Pay Online

This policy explains what data the Wix app “Request a Quote & Pay Online” (the app), published by Kayabyte, the trading name of Caner Kaya, Stasjonsveien 64, 0771 Oslo, Norway (we, us), processes when it is installed on a Wix site. It adds to the privacy policy for Kayabyte apps for Wix, which also applies.

What the app does

The app adds a Request a quote button to the site’s product pages. Shoppers send a list of products with their contact details. The site owner prices the request in the dashboard and sends a quote by email; the buyer pays it at the site’s own Wix checkout.

Roles

The site owner is the controller for the data in their Wix site and for the people who ask for quotes. Kayabyte acts as a processor that handles the data only to run the quote requests the owner receives. Wix.com Ltd. hosts the site and the app’s dashboard page. Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the app’s service and its storage, and Resend sends the app’s emails. Both are sub-processors.

Data the app stores

• Quote requests: the buyer’s name, email, optional phone number, company and message, the page language, and the products asked for (product and option IDs, name, option text, SKU, image link, quantity, store price).
• Quotes: the prices, note and valid-until date the site owner sets, the status, and for paid quotes the order ID and number.
• Settings: button text, reply note, which products show the button, and on Pro the logo link, terms and quote-only products.
• A network key: a keyed one-way hash of the sender’s IP address, used only to limit abuse. The IP address itself is not stored.
• Site contact details: the site’s business email address (read from the site’s Wix business info), the site name and the install date. We use them to send the site owner new-request emails and service messages about the app. The email is kept while the app is installed and deleted 30 days after the app is removed. It is never shown to site visitors.

Emails

The site owner gets an email for each new request. The buyer gets the quote email (and on Pro a reminder before the quote expires, and a short email if the site owner declines with a note). Emails come from quotes@kayabyte.dev with the site’s name, and replies go to the site owner’s email.

What is shown publicly

Nothing is shown on the site except the button and the shopper’s own list in their browser. The quote page is only reachable with the random link in the buyer’s email.

Retention and deletion

• Requests and quotes are kept while the app is installed, so the site owner keeps the record. The site owner can delete any request in the dashboard. Requests older than 24 months are deleted automatically.
• When the app is removed, quote links stop working at once and everything stored for the site is deleted 30 days later; a reinstall within those 30 days restores it.
• Records of sent emails and of processed Wix events are kept for up to about 60 days.
• We also keep a small install record for our own install counts: the site’s ID, when the app was installed or removed, and plan changes. It holds no names, emails or requests.
• Site owners can ask for earlier deletion, or deletion of one buyer’s data, at support@kayabyte.dev.

Security

All traffic uses HTTPS. Quote links are random values stored only as keyed hashes. Every request to the app’s service is checked with Wix, and each site can read only its own data.

Logs

The service writes technical log lines (the app instance ID, the request path, the outcome and error codes). Logs contain no buyer names, emails or messages and are kept by Cloudflare for a short time. Install, removal and plan events that Wix sends the app, with the app instance ID, are also copied to Kayabyte’s private usage statistics.

Plans and payments

Paid plans and the buyer’s payment are handled by Wix. We never receive card details.

Cookies, tracking and third parties

The app sets no cookies. The shopper’s quote list is kept in their own browser storage until they send it. The app uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. We do not sell data. No data is shared with third parties other than Wix, Cloudflare and Resend, as described above.
