Tee times on Wix Bookings: weekend fees and a price per player
By Kayabyte
Short answer: Wix Bookings can’t set a different price by day of the week on its own. The Wix team’s advice is to offer varied prices and check the client’s choice yourself. For a golf course that means separate weekday and weekend services, or an app that adds the weekend fee and a per-player fee at checkout. Cart or no cart is a choice the player makes, so it stays a price option, not a fee rule.
The question
A golf course owner posted on the Wix forum in October 2024. They wanted a tee-time service: slots every 5 to 10 minutes, 1 to 4 players, cart or no cart, and a weekend or weekday fee, each combination at a different price. They feared the only route was one service for every combination (forum thread). A reply suggested two services, one for weekdays and one for weekends, each with varied price options such as “1 player + cart”. The owner found that the booking form then asked clients to “select up to 1 participants”, which would confuse visitors. The reply said Wix settings could not offer the options in a clearer way without code.
A separate forum post from December 2023 asked for a higher price at weekends for the same service. A Wix Bookings team member answered that the right solution at that point was varied prices plus validating the client’s choice, and that validating the weekday was being considered for the future (forum thread).
Facts in short
| Need | Built into Wix Bookings | With a fee app |
|---|---|---|
| A different price at weekends | Not as a setting. Separate service, or varied prices the client picks. | A weekend rule adds a fee by day of the week. |
| A price per player | Varied prices per group size, or participants, set by hand. | A per-participant fee. |
| Cart or no cart | A price option or an add-on the player chooses. | Not a rule. The player chooses it, so it stays an option. |
| Stops a player picking the wrong day’s price | No. The client chooses the option. | The fee is added by the rule, not chosen. |
What you can do with Wix alone
- Two services, weekday and weekend, with the same varied price list in each. Clients pick the service by date, and you choose the days each is available. It works and it’s the Wix team’s route. It doubles the setup.
- Varied prices and trust. One service with weekday and weekend options. A client can pick the cheaper option on a weekend, so you check each booking by hand.
- Add-ons for the cart. A cart can be a paid add-on on the service. The Wix pages I read describe add-ons, and I haven’t tested one for tee times.
- Custom code, which needs a developer.
A weekend fee and a per-player fee at checkout (mine)
Full disclosure: I make Booking Fees & Surcharges. It adds named fees to Wix Bookings at checkout, each shown as its own line:
- A fee is a fixed amount per booking, a fixed amount per participant, or a percentage of the service price with an optional minimum and maximum.
- It can depend on the day of the week, the session start time, a date (once or every year), how soon the session starts, group size, the service and the staff member. All the conditions on a fee must hold.
- Days and times follow your business time zone.
For tee times: price the service at the weekday rate, add a weekend rule for Saturday and Sunday, and add a per-player fee if you charge per participant.
Limits to know:
- Per-participant fees, group size, chosen services and staff are on the Pro plan. Free has one active fee, set by day, time and date.
- Fees only add. It can’t give a discount for quiet hours.
- A cart or any option the player picks is not a fee rule. Keep it as a price option or add-on.
- I have not run a checkout with several participants on a live site. My test sites have no payment provider, so the fee line at checkout is checked in code and tests, not in a real booking.
- If the app can’t work out a fee, no fee is added and the booking goes through.

FAQ
Can Wix Bookings charge more at weekends? Not as a setting. Use separate weekday and weekend services, varied prices, or an app that adds a fee by day of the week.
Can I charge per player in Wix Bookings? Varied prices can set a price per group size. A per-participant fee needs an app.
Can a fee depend on the cart option? No. A choice the player makes is an option or add-on, not a rule.
