How to hide prices on Wix Stores and sell by quote
By Kayabyte
Some shops do not want a price on show. Trade prices differ by customer, custom work depends on the job, or the owner wants to talk first. Wix Stores lets you hide prices in some places, but not all, and not per product. Below is what works, what does not, and how a quote-only product fits in.
What Wix offers for hiding prices
Wix’s help page Wix Stores: Hiding Product Prices describes a setting in the editor. In the editor you open the element, click Settings and clear the Product price checkbox. You do this separately for:
- the Category Page
- each Product Gallery
- the Product Page
As I read the page, there is no store-wide switch and no per-product option. The setting applies to every product shown in that place. The same page says that hiding prices on the category page and galleries does not hide them on the Product Page, so you set that one too.
That is fine if none of your products show a price. It is not fine if only some of them are quote-only.
Other things people try
Members-only pages. Wix’s help page Wix Stores: Creating Restricted Store Pages explains how to set a page to Password holders or Site members, and the Hiding Product Prices page points to it. Visitors who are not members cannot open the page. This works for a trade section. It does not give the public a way to ask for a price, and you keep the prices in two places if you duplicate products.
Setting the price to zero. This shows a price of zero, which looks like a free product. I would not use it. Check what your cart and checkout do with it before trying.
Removing Add to Cart. In the editor, the Product Page settings let you choose which elements show. Wix’s help page Wix Stores: Customizing Your Product Page covers this. You can hide Add to Cart, and again it applies to every product on that page template, so it affects products you do want people to buy directly.
CSS. Wix does not let you add CSS to Wix Stores pages in the usual way, so hiding one price with a style rule is not available. Forum posts mention matching the price colour to the background. That is a trick, not a setting, and the price stays in the page.
Where the built-in options stop
- Hide the price on some products only.
- Give shoppers a way to ask for a price from the product page.
- Turn the request into a quote with a payment link, instead of an email thread.
Quote-only products with our app
Full disclosure: Kayabyte makes Request a Quote & Pay Online, so I describe it in more detail than the other options.
On the Pro plan you can mark chosen products as quote-only. On the product page of those products, the price and the Add to Cart button are hidden, so the quote is the only way to buy. Other products keep their normal price and button.
Be clear about one limit. The hiding applies to the product page only. Prices in category pages, galleries and search are not hidden by the app. To hide those, use Wix’s own Product price checkbox on the Category Page and galleries, as described above. Doing both gives you a shop where quote-only products show no price in the main places. That setting hides prices for every product in that place, so it suits a shop where most items are quote-only.
Worked example
A workshop sells timber benches. Each bench is built to the customer’s size, so the price depends on the job. They also sell a $12 care kit that anyone can buy.
- They mark the benches as quote-only on the Pro plan. The bench pages show no price and no Add to Cart. The care kit page looks as before.
- A customer opens a bench page and clicks Request a quote. She adds the bench, picks the oak option and sets the quantity to 2. She adds a message with the size.
- In Quote requests the workshop sets $1,150 per bench and sends the quote.
- The customer opens the quote, checks it, and clicks Pay now. Checkout opens with the two benches at $1,150 each. Shipping and tax come from the store.
- The request shows as Paid with the order number.

FAQ
Can I hide the price on only some products? Not with Wix’s own setting, as far as I could find. With the app on Pro, you mark those products as quote-only.
Will the price still show in the category page? Yes, unless you also clear the Product price checkbox on the Category Page in the editor.
Can shoppers still buy a quote-only product another way? The price and Add to Cart are hidden on its product page. Other routes may exist on your site, for example a link you added yourself, so test your live site.
Do shoppers need an account? No.
Do I need Pro for the request button? No. The button works on Free. Quote-only products need Pro.
