Can clients book a repeating weekly appointment on Wix Bookings?
By Kayabyte
A forum post from September 2026 describes a gap many service businesses run into. As the owner you can create a repeating series of appointments from the Booking Calendar, but your clients can’t create one themselves. A weekly home clean, a standing lesson or a regular massage all need “every Tuesday at 10”, and the booking page only takes one visit at a time (forum thread). This page goes through what Wix documents, the workarounds, and where an app fits for cleaning.
What Wix says
- Only you can create a series. In the Booking Calendar you add an appointment, tick the Repeats box, choose how often, and set how many sessions to create. A series holds up to 12 sessions. Wix’s article says only the owner can create recurring appointments, while clients can cancel or reschedule from their Member’s Area (Wix guide).
- A few restrictions. Multi-service appointments can’t repeat. There is no bulk edit or bulk cancel, so each session is changed one by one. The payment option you pick applies to the whole series and can’t be changed later; to switch you delete and recreate the sessions. A series produces one invoice for the full order.
- Clients can’t book a repeat themselves. Wix has two open feature requests, still collecting votes when I checked: letting clients schedule recurring class sessions and appointments (request), and letting them book several recurring appointments in one checkout (request). Neither page offers a workaround.
I did not set up a series on a live site for this page, so these points come from Wix’s own pages.
What you can do with Wix alone
- Create the series yourself. When a client asks for “every Tuesday”, add the series for them in the Booking Calendar. Up to 12 sessions at a time, then create the next block.
- Ask clients to book each visit. Simple, but regulars forget, and the good slots go.
- Sell a pricing plan or package of sessions. Wix says choosing the series invoice option means the client can’t later redeem sessions from a pricing plan, so decide which model you want before you create the first one.
- A third-party app. The forum thread’s author built an app, Recurring Appointment Self Service, that lets signed-in members create and manage their own series. It is their own announcement and I haven’t tested it, so read its listing and reviews.
For cleaning: an app with recurring cleans (mine)
Full disclosure: I make Cleaning Quote & Booking, an app for home cleaning and maid services. Recurring cleans are on its paid plans:
- You set a weekly, every-two-weeks and every-four-weeks option, each with its own discount.
- The client books and pays the first visit online. The app then keeps the next visits scheduled on the same weekday and arrival window, eight weeks ahead, and tops them up as time passes, so a series doesn’t stop after a set number of sessions.
- You can skip a visit, pause, resume or end a series, and change its price per visit.
What it doesn’t do: later visits are not charged automatically. You collect for them the way you usually do and mark them paid. Clients don’t edit their own series; you manage it in the dashboard. It’s built for cleaning (arrival windows, crews, home size pricing), not for classes or appointments in general. I haven’t run a recurring series on a live site, because my test sites are on the free plan, so treat the recurring part as read from the code and tests.
