Wix Rentals, Wix Hotels or Wix Bookings for a vacation rental: what each one does

Disclosure: I make Stay Direct, a Wix app that I describe near the end. The Wix parts below come from Wix’s own help pages, which I quote and link. Checked on 4 November 2026.
If you own a cabin, an apartment or a holiday home and want to take bookings on your Wix site, Wix has three products that sound like they could do it: Wix Bookings, Wix Rentals and Wix Hotels. They are built for different things. This page says what each one is for, using Wix’s own words, so you can pick before you build.
Wix Bookings: appointments, classes and courses
Wix Bookings is Wix’s scheduling product. On stays that run over several nights, Wix’s feature request page says: “It is not currently possible to create multi-day appointments in Wix Bookings. As a workaround, you can set a custom duration of up to 99 hours for an appointment.” That is about four nights, priced per appointment, not per night.
Wix’s help article on synced calendars says Wix Bookings “syncs only with your primary calendar”. An Airbnb calendar link is not a Google primary calendar, so it does not block time in Wix Bookings.
Fits: tours, classes, day services. Not overnight stays.
Wix Rentals: resources by the hour or the day
Wix’s article Wix Rentals: An Overview says Wix Rentals “lets you rent out resources such as equipment, studios, sports courts, or workspaces directly from your site.” You create a rental listing for each resource, choose when it is available, and clients reserve and pay online.
Facts from the same article:
- “Wix Rentals is available only on Wix Harmony.”
- “To take online reservations, you need a Business Premium plan.” Without it you can create up to three manual reservations for free.
- You set a price per listing with a time unit, “hourly or daily”. For hourly rentals you can add buffer time between reservations.
- Clients can browse listings and filter by location, date and time, resource category and attributes.
- It “uses the same resources as Wix Bookings”.
The overview talks about hourly and daily rentals of equipment, studios, courts and workspaces. It does not mention overnight stays, nightly prices, a minimum stay or calendar sync with Airbnb or Booking.com, so check those with a test before you rely on it for a holiday home.
Fits: renting out equipment, rooms by the hour or the day, studios, courts. A holiday home is not the example Wix gives.
Wix Hotels by HotelRunner: rooms, rates and channels
Wix’s overview of Wix Hotels by HotelRunner says you can “connect your Wix Hotels site to industry-leading travel platforms like Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, and more”, set rates by season and manage room availability from the site dashboard. The app is available in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Italian, Dutch, Japanese and German.
Two cautions from Wix’s own pages:
- Wix says the new version “is not available to everyone yet” (comparison of the two versions).
- Its Airbnb iCal link is one way. Wix says “your rates and reservations will not” sync, and “you will need to manually update any reservations received from Airbnb” (Wix guide).

Fits: small hotels and guesthouses with rooms and rate plans that want channels connected from inside Wix.
Which one for a cabin or apartment?

Where Stay Direct fits (mine)
Stay Direct is for owners of cabins, apartments and holiday homes who want guests to book and pay on their own Wix site. The details come from the app page as I read it on 4 November 2026. If the page differs, the page is right.
- Each property has its own calendar, nightly price (with a separate weekend price), seasons, minimum stays and a cleaning fee. The guest sees the full price before checkout and pays through your site’s own checkout.
- It reads your Airbnb, Booking.com and VRBO calendar links about every 15 minutes and gives you a link with your direct bookings for those sites to read.
- The page says: “There is no commission on bookings.” Free is 1 property, 5 online bookings a month and 1 synced calendar. Plans and prices can change, so check the page.
What it does not do, from the same page: it is not a channel manager, iCal carries dates only, and a booking made on another site in the minutes before the next read can overlap with one made on yours.
FAQ
Can I use Wix Bookings for a holiday rental? Not for several nights. Wix says multi-day appointments are not currently possible, with a workaround of up to 99 hours.
What is Wix Rentals? A Wix product for renting out resources such as equipment, studios, sports courts or workspaces by the hour or the day. It is available only on Wix Harmony, and online reservations need a Business Premium plan.
Does Wix Hotels sync with Airbnb? Wix Hotels by HotelRunner sends availability to Airbnb by iCal, but Wix says rates and reservations do not sync back, so Airbnb bookings are entered by hand.
Which Wix product is best for one cabin? None of the three is described by Wix as built for a single holiday home. Test a booking in each before you decide, or look at an App Market app.
