Is there an ASAP Utilities for Mac, and what can you use instead?

No. ASAP Utilities says on its own FAQ that it “does not yet work with the Apple/Mac editions of Excel”; it says it has plans for a Mac edition but will weigh it against demand, and the only way to use it on a Mac today is to run Windows. For the batch jobs people use it for (cleaning, merging, splitting, find and replace across files), Gridhand is a native Mac app. We make Gridhand, so check ASAP Utilities’ site for its current position; the FAQ was read on 1 November 2026.
What the ASAP Utilities FAQ says
- It does not work with the Apple or Mac editions of Excel.
- The only way to use it on a Mac is to run Windows (and Windows Excel) on the Mac, for example with Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion, Windows 365 or a remote Windows PC.
- It says it has plans to introduce a Mac edition in the future, that development is hard because Mac Excel differs from Windows Excel, and that it will consider it if there is increased demand; no date is given.

What stays with ASAP Utilities
ASAP Utilities is a large menu of in-worksheet tools (selection, formulas, printing, sheet design). Gridhand has none of those: it works on whole files and writes new ones. It also reads no .xls or .numbers files.
